During this introduction to Plone Classic and Volto, the new front end, you will learn to go beyond just writing a page or an event. You will learn how to bulk upload media, how to use Collections to dynamically organize your content, and get introduced to the power of Content Rules that can automate advanced publishing strategies, send out notifications when content needs reviewing, and more. You will also learn how staging and versioning works, how to re-arrange sections of your website and how to fully harness the power of tagging. Use, Integrate and develop Patterns for Plone 6 Classic

Use, create and integrate JavaScript functionality based on Patternslib into Plone 6. What you will learn How to use Patterns from Patternslib and Mockup in Plone 6: Use pat-inject for AJAX based navigation, Use pat-switch to change CSS classes on clicking, Use pat-gallery, pat-carousel, pat-masonry for enhancing your site with ready-to-use UI components, Build a datagrid-like form just with patterns and more... Create a JavaScript pattern from scratch and add external libraries to it. Integrate Patterns into Plone for development, debugging and production. Effective Volto

Effective Volto is intended as a training to learn proven practices of Plone 6 development. It's both, an online course and a sketch for an on-the-spot training. The goal of this training is to provide an “Swiss army knife” to developers that still don’t have enough confidence to start a client project with Volto , the new, default React front end for Plone 6. The training will cover essential concepts, as well as good practices and notions of how Volto works under the hood.Tips and tricks will be also covered, providing a good amount of insights for those who wants to learn more beyond the Volto basics. This training is intended for an intermediate/advance audience that already had some contact with Volto and tried out, or has a decent amount of experience with it.

Plone 6 Classic UI Theming

Details and what you will learn The core technologies involved in Plone 6 Classic UI theming and how to write your own add-on theme package. You’ll learn how to create a theme based on Barceloneta (for minor customizations and overrides) or completly different theme from scratch based Bootstrap 5. The first part of the training will give you an overview about the different options you have when it comes to theme Plone 6 Classic UI. In the second part we get our hands dirty and create a theme from scratch. Things to bring A linux based laptop (Ubuntu, macOS) with code editor of your choice (we recommend VS Code) and with Plone installed as described in training instructions. It is extremely important that you join the class with a working Plone installation. You need Yarn (package manager) to build your CSS/JavaScript.
